About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty into food. Growing, cooking, and eating are all interesting and important to me.

I also like sports, games, books, music, and generally athletic and/or mentally engaging activities.

I like being around people, but I'm pretty quiet. What can I say? Not everyone can (or needs to) be the life of the party.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to live in Austin, during which time I hosted a couple of people, and participated in CS Austin community events every now and again. There was a long period where I was insufficiently settled to host, but I am back in a position to do so, albeit in a location that is probably not a hot spot for couchsurfers.  I expect that I will occasionally travel and couchsurf along the way in the future as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Solid, so far.

Interests

In general: anything relating to the beauty and the tragedy and the comedy of life, preferably all at the same time.

In particular: anything relating to the cultivation, preparation, and/or consumption of foodstuffs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossed the Sahara by a combination of bus, taxi, and vegetable van. Stressful and a bit harrowing, but also amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking. New ways of cooking, new ways of using foods, new recipes, new baked goods. I want to learn, and I am happy to teach.

Languages. Generally speaking, I'm up for learning any language, or teaching any language i can. Or even just talking about linguistics and the insight differences in language/use might give into a person or a culture.
