About Me

I sometimes wish I could somehow escape from the norms of
society. My goal in life is to have time to do the things I love more
so than having alot of money and posessions. I know it goes together in a way but this is the reason I started my own business when I completed my studies in Geology at the University of Stellenbosch.

Since then I have been working with tunnel vision to get my business to a place where I can start travelling freely.

I'm almost there now and soon I will be taking some sabbatical time off and travelling for a while and also after this more often. Still thinking and planning where I will be travelling to.

This is my reason for joining the couchsurfing community.

I live in a small town call Strand just outside of Cape Town next to the beach. I love doing trail running, mountain biking, hiking and outdoor stuff like this in my time off. But I also love my job so I don't really need to escape from anything.

As Alan Watts says: Work as play. And.. It is your solemn duty to learn how to enjoy yourself.

This is my moto and what I'm after
in life. To get to do and see as much as possible in my short time on earth, finding joy in all of it and all of the experiences life has to offer and just being grateful to be able to do so.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started a business as a self employed carpenter with only a few tools and my hands when I was 23. Had no training, just winged it and it's been the best, most fun and toughest journey of my life so far.
