I enjoy the outdoors and love trying new adventures.

Just a heads up, my home does not have television service or very good cell service. I have limited satellite internet. I do have a television and a Blu-Ray player. There is public wifi across the street from me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people and travel. I thought couchsurfing & hosting might be a different but fun way to do that.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite author is Mark Twain, and I love The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. It was my favorite book as a kid, and will always be special to me.
But I love to read, and books like American Gods, Exegesis, The Dresden Files series, and The Kingfountain series are the type I find the most appealing.
I like most music, but when left up to me, the radio lands on rock stations.
I like epic movies like Lord of the Rings and action movies. I'm okay with mindless action, especially if there are funny bits. I'm not into romances or most modern "comedies".

I didn't make it to the top because our group had altitude issues but we camped at Trail Camp, so I think we still did something awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new things. I also learn to teach and share.
I can weave with fiber and weave baskets. I teach workshops and classes, both at work and as a side job with a local university. I also make soap, bake bread, and make notebooks.
I like to test and share my outdoors skills as well, such as navigating with a compass, starting fires without a match, and tying different knots. My job is basically what most people call a park ranger, so I teach those skills to others but I also occasionally need them.
