Overview
About Me
Experienced couchsurfers can skip this first section and just read the rest of the profile. For everybody else: If you want to stay with me please write me a couch request, if you want to meet up please write so but for every thing else please use another platform. I don't appreciate messages which just say: "Hi, how are you?", if you want to marry me (yes, there were random people proposing...) the answer is NO. Sorry that I have to write this but at least once a week I receive a message from someone who thinks that couchsurfing is a dating platform. In my eyes it's not.
ABOUT ME
People would describe me as a laid back and peaceful person that likes to laugh a lot; often about myself because silly things happen to me frequently. =)
I love to be outdoors, preferably in the mountains for either rock or alpine climbing, ski touring, hiking or mountain biking. Sometimes, believe it or not, i just like to sit on a rock that's warmed up by the sun and enjoy nature around me.
To keep me sane in busy everyday life I do horseback riding with Icelandic horses. If you ever meet those fluffy guys you'll understand their charm...
I enjoy nice food and I like cooking a lot. Being able to grow a lot of the ingredients in my garden is very satisfying and the gardening itself is a very calming activity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I spent some weeks surfing in the US on my way from Colorado to the westcoast more than ten years ago. and surfed various couches in Europe. Back in Switzerland I started hosting as well, often together with my boyfriend at the time, which is also a passionate couchsurfer. I leave a reference for every surfer, so it would be nice if you would also leave one for me. I took some time off from Couchsurfing but now I'm back in business!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
so good 'till now that I can forget about the dog that ate my shoe while I was sleeping...
Interests
I'm interested in people and their stories, so if you arrive here I enjoy some nice conversations and i would like to learn something about you and your country.
I love animals, almost any kind.
Music, Movies, and Books
Metal, rock and punk rock are an important part of my life. If possible at live shows! Me in the audience of course - you'd pay me not to play any instrument or sing within your hearing range! Funny enough there's a very persistent rumor at my workplace that I play the drums. What can I say...
I used to read a lot of fantasy books before I drowned myself in biology textbooks and literature from my field. Hoping to get back to reading for leisure in the future. Maybe you can recommend me your favourite book.
Not all that much into movies or series to be honest. I'll make an exception for Lord of the Rings though...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I've done was hiking in the backcountry of Yellowstone Natl. Park in the U.S.
First the wilderness was quite disturbing for a girl from Switzerland where we have no bears, mountain lions or poisonous snakes. But after clasping to my bearspray while sleeping the first few nights I got used to the sensation of the wilderness, the sounds and smells and learned to appreciate and enjoy them.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you a lot about icelandic horses and bacteriophages... and of course i'll show you how to bake that special swiss bread called "Zopf" =)
If you're up to it I'd like to learn how to cook your favourite dish from your country.
