Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am brand new to this community. I'd like to first contribute by being an excellent house guest during the next six months while I live in Germany.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While I have not been an active member of CouchSurfing for long, my most recent comparable experience in the United States was to stay with the Amish in Pennsylvania for about a week. I took on their lifestyle, no phones or internet, and worked the farm with them. We milked cows, canned apple sauce and harvested corn. I enjoyed the learning experience of putting myself into another way of life for a time.
Interests
I am an artist. I see beauty in the mundane and cull joy from my surroundings regardless of what they may be. I am fascinated by nature and excited by machines of human ingenuity.
I am enamored by activities such as:
hiking, cycling, yoga, reading, live music, viewing art, star gazing, camping, dreaming, and meaningful genuine human interaction

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy reading, and I like to experience music. A movie has to be really good to hold my attention, I am not much of a watcher, I'd rather be out doing.
It may be easier to list the things I do not like.
I do not like closing my mind to new experiences, except celery. I know I do not like celery.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I could list some of the exciting things that I've done here- like skydiving, white water rafting, going on safari... But in all honesty the moments in life that leave me awestruck are things like the falling of a leaf from a tree, or the rise and fall of an ocean wave, or the sound of a gentle breeze making its way through a field of tall grass. These things are banal to describe, they must be experienced.
Teach, Learn, Share
I work as a metalsmith. I love working with tools and can be very handy.
