Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Being mistaken is the essence of a traveler's tale.
ABOUT ME
Ever since I went on the study abroad trip to China through my university, I have acquired the travel bug. This spring, I graduated and accepted a job in the Rochester Area. I am eager to meet people in this diverse area and hear about their travels.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is quite simple. I travel to appreciate what kinds of people, places, and landmarks are on this earth. If I can learn to appreciate such things, maybe someday I can learn to help the same people that helped me out someday.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Honestly, last summer was the first time I was involved in the CS project so I'm still new to the whole experience. To respect the foundation, I immediately paid a donation and was verified. Since then I have not traveled and have not hosted only because no one travels to the small town that I currently live in.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The only time I have been involved with CS was surfing last year in Japan with my brother. Without this reputable program, my brother and I not only wouldn't have had the opportunity to live in Japan, but wouldn't have made great friends either.
Interests
When it comes to traveling, I take my most important hobbies with me. Hobbies such as running, hiking, tennis, canoeing, learning new languages, swimming...etc. Almost any thing active or sport related, interest me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Science fiction movies, documentaries, horror, and of course comedy. Some of my favorite actors are Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks, Leslie Neilson.
Music: I enjoy all genre's except male country singers. Post rock music is my new favorite.
Books: No surprise, I enjoy books about travel such as "A Walk Across America" and "Riding the Iron Rooster."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going to China on a study abroad trip organized through my school last summer was definitely the most amazing thing that I've done. The trip was most amazing because it gave me a different perspective, made me more open-minded, culturally sensitive and most importantly strengthened my ability to initiate into things. I realize that there are great people out there and I want to meet continue to have a global network of friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
While it's difficult say that I'm an expert in anything, I know a great deal of knowledge about engineering, computers, running and basic traveling in China and Japan. Going into engineering, I have gained an technical competence and can help troubleshoot basic electrical/computer problems. As for running, I have been running both on a high school and a college level team as well.
