Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Carrollton, GA where I resided for twenty-four years and received my Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from The University of West Georgia. Although I have always dreamed of moving North to a vibrant art city, I have come to appreciate my southern roots and am happily living in Tallahassee, FL. I moved here in 2013 to attend graduate school at Florida State University where I taught art. After graduating, I was lucky enough to meet my best friend and love whom I live with. We hope to move to a mid-sized city in the next 1-2 years, but in the meantime, I am enjoying my backyard shed turned artist studio and lower rent.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am a full time emerging visual artist living in Tallahassee, FL. I graduated from Florida State University last April, and with student loans I am not interested or able to relocate to an art hub or large city. Being from GA, I believe that it is up to us to fight cultural erosion and I really hope to inspire and teach others in these communities. I supplement my income by driving Uber while working to build my portfolio, artist & teaching resume, as well as trying to teach myself and learn more about non-profits, curating, and artist-run spaces both in FL and around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I hate summing myself up in things like this and find it difficult to narrow my widespread interests. I think it is better to converse and share joys of life in a back and forth fashion rather than a matter of fact list.
Recent Books off the top of my head:
Lucid Dreaming
Man's Search for Meaning
Waking, Dreaming, & Being; The Self & Consciousness in Neuroscience, Meditation & Philosophy
