About Me

*can't regularly take guests at the moment, but feel free to ask.

*one day I'll add a normal profile picture, but this is me at least. Looking at my hand with confusion,

Person from Scotland. Why spend money on a hotel when you can meet some new people for free? :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet folk, do stuff, visit places, and offer folk a place to stay.

Interests

I'm always finding new things to be interested in, if there's anything you could tell me about, that would be fantastic! Games, instruments, interests, hobbies of any sort

I try to play a few instruments, but perhaps I'm stretching what little skill I have too far with those. It's great fun though. Likewise with languages ':D I start learning too many, but I have stuck with a couple.

Music, Movies, and Books

Depends on my mood, a bit of folk, a bit of metal, a pop ballad every now and then (when Lewis Capaldi is on especially). I went through an organ phase recently, but then Eurovision took over as it does every year.

Learning German introduced me to Die Ärzte and Rammstein, and apparently I have more German music in my library than most Germans so be prepared if I come across an aux cord...

As for books, I like the idea, but I'm usually reading 7 at a time and finishing about 0. If I really like a book I've been known to noy finish it to avoid the post-book sadness 😅 last time I did that was with the 3rd His Dark Materials.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I always think I've done something amazing whenever I've enjoyed it 😁 Most recently, I spent a week living in a forest in the centre of Scotland in order to spend my mornings cycling around old towers, and my evenings working at a festival. I met a lot of interesting people there who cooked me food or joined me on little adventures. I recommend it. The money will be going towards the trip to Germany I am currently planning.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can probably bore you with random titbits and facts for a whole day... But maybe there's something useful as well. Very basic guitar lesson? English practice? I'll learn what I have to offer after having done a few trips, I imagine...

Ich lerne Deutsch also bin ich immer sehr froh mein Deutsch zu üben.

What I Can Share with Hosts

At the very least, the promise of a place to stay at mine in future.

Happy to help with cooking or whatever if they fancy a meal together.

I enjoy a good blether.

If they're looking for a hiking/cycling partner I wouldn't be able to say no.

Probably mostly the blether tbh. And any great wisdom that comes accidentally from it.
