ABOUT ME

Right now, I teach marine science to kids. I love kids! They are soooo funny. Earlier this week I was at work on our research vessel in the glorious SF bay and my group of kids caught a buttload of anchovies. "Sardines! Sardines!" they screamed. "Well, they're like sardines in some ways, but this is actually a different kind of fish. I'll give you a hint: sometimes you see this on pizza." "PEPPERONI!!!!" That's right. We had captured rare Sea Pepperoni. I was laughing so much I could barely teach the next part of the station. Anyway, that's sort of about me, sort of about fish and kids...but that's my life right now! I think this might just show that I'm a bit of a tangential person, I like stories, I LOVE laughing and it seriously does not take much to make me do so. I believe writing is one of the sexiest things on earth, and I genuinely, whole-heartedly love this planet! I find it endlessly fascinating, I need to be outdoors and engaged in my work, and I try to find fun and beauty everywhere and in everything! I'm currently looking at going back to school (never thought that would happen, but here it is!) to learn counseling skills - grow as an individual and lovingly help others do the same :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, I am a couch mooch. Alas, I have no stable home of my own, and no couch to share, but I have lots of goodness and smiles in lieu, so I participate by bringing those, an open heart, curiosity, and creativity to the couches I have surfed. I look forward to opening up my own space in the future!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only couchsurfed a couple of times, but both instances were awesome, connective, and worthwhile experiences, bolstering my faith in the beauty of humanity!!! (Hu-woman-ity?...hmmm).

Nature, the beauty-quest, good communication, true courage, writing and singing, honesty, mad-dancing!!! cooking, reading, yoga, biking, hiking, nerding out over all sorts of stuff, being spontaneous, creative and authentic. I like learning new things that blow my mind, I like trying on different points of view...i like corny things and terrible cliches, photography and film, physics, philosophy, transcendentalism, and cartwheels. I love music, hot chocolate, road trips, driving at night with the windows down and the heater on my feet, the palpable sensation of gratitude in my chest, clouds, dirt, hanging out with sheep (endless sources of entertainment, I swear), watching kids (and "grown-ups") make discoveries, eating, growing food, eating again, family and friends, new and old. Aliveness.
