About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the hill towns of snowy Massachusetts!

ABOUT ME

I live in Western Massachusetts (we just moved!) with my husband Eli (we just got married!) and our crazy little dog Harley. The dog rules our life. He is a good boy, but needs a LOT of attention, so if you are not into dogs, just stop reading here.

When I'm not working, you will probably find me curled up with a book or watching something and knitting. I take my knitting pretty seriously, but I am also a handweaver, and spend most of my time right now working on developing a production weaving business.

I've been couch surfing for a number of years now and my experiences have been just wonderful. I want to do what I can to give pass all that good stuff back out into the world.

Eli is a software enginee. He is a language nerd - his favorite website is Etymonline, an etymology dictionary. He also loves to make puns, sometimes across languages (he speaks some Mandarin, French and dabbles in Spanish in addition to his native English...). He is also extremely laid back, happy to go with the flow and easy to please! Although this is "my" profile, since we are married and mostly travel together I figured he needed his own blurb. :P

PHILOSOPHY

uhhhh....I work hard to be kind, considerate, patient and giving at all times. Not sure its a philosophy, its just my nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing experiences have been truly wonderful. From staying up all night in Barcelona to being a witness for someone's wedding here in the city, all of my experiences have been magical. I love how open couchsurfers are, they open their hearts to you even though youre just passing through their lives...

Interests

Crafting of any kind, travel, of course. Seeing oddball things, the off the beaten path type of stuff. I like to make a big meal, drink too much wine and watch old movies. Thats probably my favorite activity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Istanbul, I went with my friend to the hammam. We were massaged, scrubbed and baked under a dome with little stars cut out of ceiling open to the sky, in a place that was built more that 500 years ago...for about $17. While we were there a group of young women and a small girl came in together and began to dance and sing for one another and play a bucket like a drum. Amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

knitting, cooking, leaf peeping...

Also, I'm obsessed with the Kurt Wallander books/movies and I am learning Swedish! :D

If you are Swedish, I will probably host you. Not to discriminate or anything, but I don't get much chance to practice!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We live in a painfully lovely small town in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. We love having visitors and are happy to show you all our favorite places.
