About Me

Very welcoming and open, with a positive outlook and plenty of enthusiasm for all sorts of things. I really like learning about all the ways that truth is stranger than fiction.

Bit queer, comfortable with difference but not intolerance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling the world cheaply and more productively, hopefully, than the standard touristy amble-about. I am currently between housing, and am late to this website. In the future, I'll keep my place open to the road-weary traveller. Hope to repay the kind generosity of this community when I find a space.

Headed through Europe, visiting friends and seeing new worlds among the billions on this little planet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ooh. Music: a little bit of a lot of things, recently a lot of call electronic.
Books: I read a lot of science fiction, my favorite author is probably Samuel R. Delany; recently read Elif Batuman's "The Idiot," which was fantastic. And non-fiction, mostly around academic history, literature, and alt economics.

Movies..ah...funny ones? Riddick was fantastic, there's nothing remotely wrong with Vin Diesel's light-allergic monster movie rampage. Otherwise, I can't even think of movie titles! Uh, something something Disney is life something something Star Wars is ok too...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year in a Chinese high school as a student! That was different.
Otherwise, not sure what qualifies as Amazing--trying to be a good person is, I think, much more important than trying to be an Amazing or Interesting one.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll find a way to make my stay beneficial--yardwork, cooking, housework can all be helped with! Generally quite social, I figure people you meet here are basically just friends youre meeting for the first time. The world is full of really interesting and amazing people!

We can cook a home meal--someone will learn a new recipe! Or go out and totally own at bar trivia, sing karaoke, in general have a great time! (Alternatively, I can keep to myself real well too.)

Countries I’ve Visited
