A 51 year-old father of one, married to my best guy who is also Mike for 28 years. Passionate about child advocacy, child rights, thwarting child abuse and leveling the playing field for marginalized kids around the world. I am a tournament level Scrabble player. Love to eat, entertain, meet people from around the world. Live life as it goes each day. A little bit of Ha-kuna Matatta!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a newbie and have done nothing but a small donation to Couch-surfing. At first I plan to get my feet a little wet before jumping in. I am in Bali, Indonesia for a few months at a time 2-3 times a year and might be willing to open my house to a fellow surfer[s]... while I am in Bali. I like being a surfer as I could never get up in the ocean but love surfers and lifestyle.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In our home in Bali and in Palm Springs, CA, though our family has participated in foreign student exchange for a few years. I have traveled around the world for the last 25 years, and am at ease with new people, new experiences and enjoy the spice it adds to life.

I am still alive. My craziest travels were in East Berlin before 1989; Sri Lanka last year weeks after the finish of the 25 year-old civil war. My favorites are Bali, Florence and just about any spa anywhere! The leading favorite is my warm comfy couch at my primary home with my dogs, my guy, my daughter and respite in Manhattan Beach, California

I would love to be more tolerant; understand the socio-economic void amongst my friends around the world and not compensate for what I have accomplished rather then dominate. I am always loving to learn. I can share much. I am less a teacher and more a sharer in such a way that I am now the teacher and the learner.
