About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to teach English to Spanish speaking people in Costa Rica and learn the culture and traditions of a Latin American coutry. Also, I intend to learn to speak Spanish perfectly.
ABOUT ME
The usual stuff...married(2) and divorced(2), 3 great sons from 1st marriage. I made an observation about myself only a month ago while visiting my dying father. He was 1) a Soldier 2) a Teacher and 3) an Insurance Agent. I have been 1) Insurance Agent 2) Mariner and 3) a Teacher. So, in effect, I have mirrored my father's life without intending to do it! Funny how life works. I'm proud to say that I am like my Dad! I will miss him when he's gone...probably within the next 30 days. Thanks for everything Dad!! You're the greatest! My mom too...she was outstanding woman. I miss her dearly. I love you Mom & Dad!!!
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live!! We're not going to get out of this life alive...so, enjoy the journey and help some other people along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
August 2008: Currently, I have not participated in CS2 project. I just learned about this site and I am exploring it thoroughly.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not hosted anyone because my couches have been limited where I've been living. However, I have met some very nice people as a result of CouchSurfing.
Interests
I am a baseball, hotdogs and Chevrolet type of guy. I enjoy many simple things...taking a walk, talking with friends, surfing the internet, watching a DVD movie or watching a beautiful sunset from a beach. Pretty simple stuff really.

Music, Movies, and Books
Action/Adventure movies like Indiana Jones and the James Bond flicks. Love the "baseball movies" like Field of Dreams and For the Love of the Game. Like the action heros Batman, Superman, Spiderman, etc. And, movies like Top Gun. For the more sensitive side to me, I like Pretty Woman!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had the experience of "abandoning ship" on a yacht delivery mission to Haiti when the other person aboard went "crazy." It was either 1) Kill him or 2) Call the USCG and have them come to rescue me. I chose #2 and when rescued, the USCG helicopter rescue team had the joy of telling me that I had jumped into some horribly shark-infested waters...and survived! Guess it was not my day to die!! Thank God!!
