About Me

Born and raised in Guadalajara (Mexico), lived in Edmonton and Lyon - I have been following my passion for learning about languages, people, culture and just about everything there is to know about the human mind. I got so compelled by the workings of the mind that I decided to study Neuroscience at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, which is where I currently live.

I'm in the process of writing a book about "the liquid mind" and developing a Youtube channel where I am planning to talk about topics ranging from philosophy to travelling, to technology and optimal experiences.

PHILOSOPHY

"Research your own experiences for the truth... absorb what is useful... add what is specifically your own... the creating individual is more than any style or system." - Bruce Lee

“Take only memories, leave only footprints.” – Chief Seattle

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here to connect with people from all kinds of backgrounds, to get to know something about them (and their country), to have a good time, maybe some laughs too, and get to have some cultural exchange.

Also because learning about new and different world-views from one single moment of simplicity to a deep and long conversation is probably one of the most valuable and enriching things to me.

I think this is such a great place to create do all of this things and help make a nicer world.

Interests

* A mindgasm is, in the words of Jason Silva, "an exhilarating neurostorm of intense intellectual pleasure."

I can easily say that music is my biggest passion because it seems to me that it translates best the "voice of the muses." I believe that Nietzsche was soo right when he said that "life without music would be a mistake."

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:

I am a music junkie, so it's always hard for me to pick up one or two genres, or one or two artists... but let's just say I like a LOT of everything.

MOVIES:

Inception, Avatar, Matrix, Patch Adams, Revolver, Good Will Hunting & The Fountain.

BOOKS:

My favorites are Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl, Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, Waking up by Sam Harris, The Denial of Death by Ernest Becker and The Little Prince by St Exupery

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am not very fond of heights but one time I was invited to skydive with my best friend (and my actual brother) for his 25th birthday... at the time, I was just about to finish reading the book The Denial of Death (which I highly recommend), aand I couldn't help but say yes... and guess what?!
I LOOVED IT!
