About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Got home after a year in South East Asia and a 5 months Buddhist and mindfulness retreat in North Thailand" After this I went back hiking in the Canadian rockies for 6 weeks before going around the USA for a 17000 KM road trip sleeping at the back of my car :)
ABOUT ME
I'm Caroline, my passions in life are travelling, hiking, creating and helping others. I love meeting new people while I'm travelling that's why I thought couch surfing would be the perfect experience. Better let you know that once I met someone I never forget them, so you will end up with a friend for life. I have been kind of traveling around for the past 10 years, establishing in new countries and working there. So far I lived and work in Australia, working on tours in the outback to Uluru and King's canyon, I lived in Canada working as event manager, England working as an film teacher, Mexico where I volunteered with indigenous communities and the States where I worked as event manager as well. I just got back from traveling south east Asia for a year which was a very fulfilling experience, especially Myanmar! I have a deep connection with nature and all the wildlife, I can live with nothing as long as I have my camera and my pillow ;-)
PHILOSOPHY
Feel the fear but do it anyway
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I believe that CS is important for the future, I went to too many hostels where no one talks to each other and if you say hi one morning you get a scared look. With CS finally we have the opportunity to get people together again and communicate other than through the internet. They can discover each other, keep in touch for a better world I believe.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't do much of couch surfing to be honest as I often travel doing Woofing or camping or sleeping in my car. But one of the best was definitely in Vietnam, it was through a friend's couch surfing account and I thought it was amazing, I have had 5 experiences since and it was amazing to meet the people, I got very lucky with everyone that hosted me, they were all such beautiful people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Dive in the Cenotes in Mexico and hike the Canadian Rockies, I have no words to describe it.
Also I am fascinated by whales, when I lived in Canada I would pack the tent, set it up next to the sea and stay on my rock all day waiting for them to appear. The first time I saw one I had no idea it would have such impact on me, since then I try to learn more and more, I don't think I've had better emotion than when hearing or seeing a whale.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think through the CS experience it is possible for both sides to learn something. The best school in life is traveling, with couch surfing you'll get to meet people who have their own story, experience, interests and personality which will be different than yours, so of course you are both gonna learn from each other.
