About Me

I’m a Colombian/Venezuelan who lives in South Africa since 2016. I’m a Creative soul, writer and artist; a former Journalist in my home country, was also a Spanish Teacher in international schools; and someone who after seven years of healing and self development work realized there is a possible a new call to become a Spiritual Advisor.

I share my home with regular tenants, and been hosting for some years locals and visitors through Airbnb. And now I’m on Couchsurfing! I organize and host/co-host activities related with healthy living, communication games, spiritual or emotional support and healing related (Women’s circles, Breahtwork practice, Qigong, Full moon ceremonies, Mindful book club, Authentic relating games, Movie nights, etc). Mostly that’s my open service to the community.

I love to connect with people from different contexts and cultures, I’m well educated, travelled, and I am always willing to make new friendships with an open heart and mind. I’m interested in the arts, playing Chess, love dancing, meditation, hiking, the sea, water sports, drawing/painting, a healthy lifestyle, and deep meaningful conversations. Dream/goal: write a book/a serie of memoirs.

I don’t smoke neither drink alcohol that much (some wine or beer occasionally), and even though I’m vegetarian at home I’m super flexible when eating out or invited. When traveling, I would prefer homes where there is no much smoking or super heavy drinking, to be able to share more. I don’t mind participating in a party though since I love dancing! :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on my 50th year anniversary and promised myself to recover the adventurous side of me that is been very calmed for years, and considering I want to travel as well as hosting, I found this platform as a good opportunity to try it out both as a good exchange with life and good energy. I need to open again my experiences in the world and call more international interactions which I love so much!

Music, Movies, and Books

At home I used to listen relaxing music to concentrate or cleanse the space energetically. But then I play also pop/rock music and other genres to cheer me up, exercise and just have fun moving around the house. I love music and really follow up with it according to my mood and spirit of the moment.

Now, regarding movies, I love the artistic ones, romantic, drama, biographies, thrillers, comedies, and the action ones in the big screen. My real favorite ones though are those who play with different dimensions in their narrative, those who play with your mind a bit with time and space and make you wonder about the reality of the story, or interlacing different periods of time. I recommend my most memorable movies: El Lado Oscuro del Corazón, by Eliseo Subiela (Argentinian), and Wings of Desire, by Wim Wenders (German).

For books, I read mostly now the ones related with the development of the mind, self help, healing and spirit. Lots of good writers out there in those fields. In renewal reading, my former favorite authors were: Khalil Gibran, Herman Hesse, Richard Bach, Paulo Coelho, Mario Benedetti.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done many things a bit out of the ordinary for a latin woman. Have checked skydiving, paragliding, canyoning, sailing, hitchhiking across my country, played in a theatre, had a radio program, quit once a good corporative job to drive a taxi instead, met people from more countries than the ones I have visited, used to hang out in embassies, also explored slums in Luanda, have done medicinal plants (Ahuayasca, Iboga, Mushrooms, San Pedro, Peyote), and have been in a sort of semi retired life style without being retired since I was 43. But my biggest accomplishment was to raise my son on my own while doing all those things and more.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach from the heart, learn from the silence of the mind, share living through the eyes of the soul.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share all my authentic self, an honest heart and open mind, fully ready to listen as much as needed. I could teach briefly Spanish, be a Spiritual Advisor (into healing or self discovery), show how to draw/paint creatively, and inspire to dance freely or speak/listen/sing from the heart. I can also help cooking or with errands.
