Overview
About Me
An old soul, young at heart; an informed citizen and conscious consumer; a compassionate friend, honest and caring to a fault; a deep thinker and creative artist.
I very much enjoy meeting other people with similar values, sharing healthy and delicious meals together, playing music, complex card games, reading, and practicing aikido. I also like learning new skills and practical information so that I may become more proficient at life and can pass on useful knowledge to others.
Often I go my own way - in business this is called innovation; in society it's called weird, but that's okay! I love Oscar Wilde's quote "Everything popular is wrong" because I believe that in order to live a fulfilling existence, one must avoid following the herd and explore their own path.
If you have me as a guest, you can expect a high level of cleanliness, maybe even leaving your place in better shape than it was (if you don't mind).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I appreciate getting to know like-minded people and discovering common interests, talents, etc. as well as different perspectives and philosophies.
I believe humans comprise one gigantic family, and many strangers are just friends (or brothers/sisters) I haven't met yet.
At this time I see no point in becoming "verified" if the only requirement is payment. What do you think?

Music, Movies, and Books
Haven't the time to keep up with the latest movies and rarely watch TV, but do enjoy Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, and Grantchester.
Books are essential and I'm an avid reader of that which I consider helpful or important. I love Eckhart Tolle. A New Earth is a masterpiece. Last book I read was Mindset by Carol Dweck. Currently reading about how thinking translates to suffering.
Too many brilliant musicians to name. I love classic rock, but anything good (subjective I know) in terms of songwriting and production I usually like.
Santana, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Boston, Van Halen, Heart, Kansas, Sublime, Deep Forest, Thievery Corporation, Andreas Vollenweider, Fryderyk Chopin, Scott Joplin, Koji Kondo, and Tommy Emmanuel are some faves. Also many songs produced by Mutt Lange (I never met the guy, he might stink as a person but he's really good at music production).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Won an Ikea drawing contest as a kid and got a free desk, chair and lamp. Not really that amazing, but I'll take it (I took it)!
In 2015, I quit my job and lived in Sweden for a year. Again, not quite amazing, but definitely interesting!
It's an amazing world, and most of the amazing things we see other people do are assisted behind the scenes by other people, sometimes entire teams, maybe even hundreds or thousands of others supporting them. Therefore it's hard for one person to take credit for many accomplishments.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach nutrition and the hazards of processed foods (many of which are fake food, especially in the USA). I can teach guitar. I'll share anything you might find useful, and I'm always open to learning new things. I love to learn and am a good listener.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Friendship, a positive outlook and sense of humor, jokes, good conversation, music (recommendations or played by me on guitar), an artist's perspective (with optional feedback on how to take your song to the next level), creative collaboration, recipes, wellness tips, and more. Would gladly host you in return and recommend places to check out in Boston if you're headed this way and let me know when you're coming.
