I am do-er. I like to make things happen and grasp opportunities when they come.
I love wine and good food, accompanied by good conversation. Or not - I also like my wine on it's own. I love getting outdoors and reaching peaks, but equally love walking tours in the city and looking up at skyscrapers. I just like making memories and new experiences in new places. La vita é bella.

I like to dabble in a little bit of everything, and have lots of hobbies and interests. My professional life however is all about making our world a healthier place for all. I've studied nutrition and dietetics before moving into the world of public health policy. Most recently I've worked in, and taught health research. My main area of interest is equitable access to health care. Call me weird, but I'm always interested in seeing the differences between hospitals, clinics and health care practices around the world. I've done a lot of work around energy drink consumption as well - so don't get me started on red bull...

Though my profile was started a few years ago, I never got around to utilizing Couchsurfing. So in fact, I'm really new to the community as of August 2016!

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe that the best way to learn about, experience and discover new places in the most authentic way is by hearing what the people who live there have to say, what they do and where they eat and drink. :)

Musica, film e libri

Music: Everything from Yurima to Zac Brown Band to Stromae to Avicii. I love live music whenever possible and though I can never remember who sings what, or what the lyrics are, you can catch me singing along to just about anything.
Movies: Anything I can learn from: Schindler's list, Hotel Rwanda and so many others. I enjoy documentaries and watch way too many of them on Netflix: Mind of a Chef, Brave Miss World, the drop box, etc. I like series like Scandal and Mad Men.
Books: The Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee. Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry.

I can teach French, I want to learn (better) salsa and I want to share travel stories.

There are a couple things I can teach, and I can tell you about them should we meet. There are so many things for me to learn, too many to even begin listing here. I intend on learning forever. I'm happy to share with anyone who is kind.

A bottle of wine, always. Travel stories, travel advice, and lessons I've learned.
I also know several one liners. You may of may not laugh... I am quite sarcastic, but always intend it in good fun, always. And a listening ear. I'm striving to strike a balance.
