About Me

Hi! I’m Catherine (Yiling) from Taiwan. I’m friendly, responsible, and very easy to get along with. I love helping others, keeping things organized, and creating a warm, welcoming environment, hospitality comes naturally to me.

I have experience in housekeeping, front desk, laundry, and guest services from working in Canadian mountain resorts. I also have a background in Facilities Management (FM) for global companies, which has given me strong organizational skills, safety awareness, and the ability to handle practical tasks efficiently.

Outside of work, I’m very active and love skiing, hiking, working out, boxing, yoga, and traveling. Being outdoors and staying active helps me keep a positive mindset and good energy, which I naturally bring into shared living and working environments. I’m hardworking, reliable, adaptable, and not afraid of physical work or long hours. I truly enjoy contributing to a team and being part of a supportive, welcoming community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

From June 2026, I also plan to begin a slow journey across Europe, combining cultural exchange, volunteering, and meaningful local connections.

I would love to bring this spirit of exchange, responsibility, and openness into your community and contribute wherever my skills and energy are most helpful.

I’ve always loved staying in hostels when I travel. They give me the chance to meet people from all over the world and experience the vibrant, shared energy of the community. Honestly, I don’t need much to feel happy on the road, just a cozy little bed and a simple place to freshen up is more than enough for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach
- Organization &Life Hacks: Coming from a Facilities Management background (I worked with tech global and banking company before), I have a weird passion for organizing spaces and making things run efficiently.
- Language: I can teach you some basic Mandarin or fun Taiwanese slang!

Learn
- Local Hidden Gems: I’m eager to learn about the stories behind your neighborhood that aren't in the guidebooks.
- Outdoor Skills: Since living in the Canadian Rockies, I've fallen in love with nature. I’d love to learn more about hiking trails or local wildlife spotting.
- Sustainability: I’m curious about how people in different parts of the world practice eco-friendly living in their daily routines.

Share
- Stories from the Road: I can share my experiences of living in New Zealand, Canada, and Taiwan, the highs, the lows, and the funny cultural shocks in between.
- A Helping Hand: I’m a very handy person. Whether it's helping with some light gardening, tidying up, or walking your dog, I'm happy to jump in!
- Positive Energy: I believe in bringing a smile and respectful, warm energy to every home I visit.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Practical Skills: My background is in Facilities Management (handling offices for Google and Intel), so I’m naturally handy and organized. Need organizing a pantry, or just tidying up? I’m your person!
- Cultural Exchange: Having worked with multinational teams, I love discussing global perspectives, cultural nuances, and the beauty of Taiwan.
- Reliability: I am a clean, respectful, and quiet guest who understands the importance of home maintenance and boundaries.
- A Positive Vibe: I’m told I bring a calm and cheerful energy wherever I go. I’m always down for a good laugh or a deep conversation over a drink!
