About Me

We both like to travel and backpack. We will be traveling to Canada to hike the West Coast Trail in Mid-June. In addition, we will have a month to explore and possibly experience more trails! We enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For our honeymoon on Kauai in 2006 we decided to not get a rental car and travel by thumb and foot. We found that your thumb often could net you a place to crash as well as a ride. We ended up staying with two great families. We’re new to the couchsurfing online community.

Update: June 2015 -- We have not had an opportunity to couch-surf until now. Our careers and families have been demanding the past few years. Also, in 2012 we spent a month in Peru. There were not opportunities there, however, we did get to experience several hostiles. We are now looking forward to couch-surfing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess our most adventurous trip so far must be our Peru experience! The trail that we backpacked was the most challenging by far. It put us to the test physically as we pushed ourselves to overcome high altitude and long, long treks while carrying heavy packs. We made it though! Along the way we were able to meet many friendly, giving people as we experienced a taste of their daily lives! We feel that this trip helped us open our minds to other people, their customs and values. It is our hope to have many more experiences that broaden and enhance our lives.
