About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to visit all parts of this magnificent mother earth!!

ABOUT ME

I am older than 50...I am single now. I have raised my children and one of my grand children. Now I am alone on a very modest income, but I plan to travel the world. I've always wanted to travel, even when I was very young. I have enough life left in me to travel now !!!

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is live and let live, add when you can, never take away unless it is absolutely necessary. We are all dependant on the kindness of strangers at least sometimes in our lives. I read somewhere that "Our actions in this life echo for eternity" I may have mis quoted it, but I think you get the meaning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this project, but my couch is available any time I am home. I hope to do more to help make this a successful project.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I remember once a long time ago, I was backpacking across America. I caught a ride with a nice couple in N. Carolina. It was late in the evening and they offered me their couch for the night. They warned me before we went into their apartment that they had a monkey named "Moses" and that he was usually hostile to strangers. When we walk in the monkey is perched on top of the curtain rods. They said it was best to ignore him, so I did. All of a sudden Moses jumps from the curtain rod and lands on my head, his little hands all but covering my eyes. I had a vision of sharp monkey teeth biting into my skull.....instead, Moses starts grooming me, hugging me and just being very friendly. We got on great, Moses and I. Moses stayed with me the whole evening as if he were my puppy or something. My hosts said it was unbelieveable, Moses had never taken to a stranger before, and showed me more gentle attention than he did to our hosts. My hosts were very gracious. They dropped me off the next morning at a good place on the highway to hitch another ride. I will always remember the kindness shown to me by my hosts, but their names have long ago faded from memory. I will never forget the name of their monkey tho.....MOSES.
