"Traveling while you are young is important, light luggage travels and lightweight pocket, and you have the heart like a sponge. The ways of the world are a school where the spirit isq tempered and tolerance and solidarity are strengthened. You learn to give and receive, to keep the doors open to the house and spirit, and above all to share. One learns to enjoy the little, to value what one has, to be happy in austerity and to celebrate abundance. You learn to listen and to look and you also learn to love. The young people of the countries of abundance would have to dedicate a year of their life, before family or professional obligations leave them bound forever, to travel the roads of the world, from city to city, from town to town, with the backpack on their backs. They would lose a year in the race of success, what's a year!, but they would win as people because they would widen the horizon, often reduced to get a tenth more in a test, and the whole world would win."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think couchsurfing is the best way to know local people and experience the city as a inhabitant, not just like a tourist. Buying on the near supermarket, cooking the food, knowing the routines of the host... Just going a bit further than from a hostel, for example. Getting in touch with the people!
*** For me Couchsurfing is NOT free accomodation!!! ***
