About Me
Hey all!
My name is Katie. I'm married with two kids. In our home we value diversity, culture, kindness, and exploration. Our kids are in a Waldorf school in the Triangle Area of NC, which really fosters their natural curiosity for learning and discovering. We try to create as many experiences in our lives for which we all can grow more as human beings, learn from others around us, and have a positive impact on those we come into contact with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have quite a bit of experience with travel myself but is there every such a thing as "having traveled enough"? I think not! There is so much out there, how can we sit around in our own homes in our own towns and leave it all to be unknown? My family and I want to see the world, we want to change and be changed in the most positive ways there are: through the lives and experiences of people and other cultures. Couch surfing just feels like the way travel (with the intent that I believe most people using this site have) should be. We should all be working as a collective community to aid in enriching each other's lives and what better way to do that then pool our resources and help each other see the world?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Au Paired in Spain for a summer. It seems insignificant compared to what others and have done and what I plan to do with the rest of my life but it really was the moment in life where the desire to travel the world became so ingrained in my being that it pains me to think that there is so much I won't see before I die. It made travel a part of who I am.
Teach, Learn, Share
My husband and I want to get into climbing. I've scuba dived before but want to get certified.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Friendly conversation, a favorite meal of ours, maybe some homemade almond butter or some other tasty treat. We can be more private or more socialable, whatever the situation calls for.
