About Me

Hey, my name is Chantal Denise Fischer. I grew up in Germany but came to the USA after I graduated from high school and now I live in Chicago since November 2017. I also have a Polish family background.
I am a very relaxed and calm person who loves to try out and experience new things. I am always looking for a challenge, for something to work on myself or for something new to learn. I always focus on the positive. Also I LOVE to travel, to meet people and I'm always looking for some fun, I like to joke and goof around. I am very empathetic, I love having deep conversations about life.
I'm a huge animal lover and I love kids.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new on Couchsurfing but the idea of staying at a locals house when visiting a new city is so amazing to me because you get to meet new people, make friendships and share your own culture. Also if you go to visit a certain country/ city who could give you a better understanding or impression of that place than somebody who actually lives there?

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much all music genres, from classic (I play the clarinet and piano) to Rock, RnB, Pop, Alternative, HipHop ... mostly I listen to HipHop, Alternative and RnB though. Twenty One Pilots is my favorite band EVER!! I like a lot of movies although I barely watch TV. My favorite books are "Lucian" by Isabel Abedi and "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like to think that every experience I made is great. The good ones make great memories, the bad ones teach you lessons and you can grow from both. If I have to name one experience I would say coming to the USA by myself when I was 18 years old because I already made lots of amazing friends here and also sooo many great memories (for example doing a roadtrip with two friends driving along the West Coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles) but it was also a challenge and I learned a lot about life and about myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very curious so besides going to school I like to educate myself in my free time about all sorts of things and to share and exchange my thoughts and knowledge with other people. I went to high school in Germany and graduated with 18, I am also going to college in Chicago where I live now. I am taking a film photography class.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my own culture with my future hosts (I grew up in Germany). If you, future host, are interested I can show you some of our traditions, tell you about our history, cook German food with you, teach you a few words in German and give you insider tips about the most beautiful places in my home country and what you definitely have to do if you ever plan to visit Germany (if you haven't already).
Since I also visited a lot of other countries in Europe too I would love to tell you about it and also hear about your favorite places that you have visited so far.
I am easy-going and uncomplicated and I like to help wherever I can and basically I just want to have a good time with my hosts.
