Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet new memories, make good friends, and laugh all the while.
ABOUT ME
We first met in college chemistry, and we were the two most reactive things in the room. Chantal is interested in sustainability as it pertains to food and agriculture. Tyler is interested in environmental health as it varies geospatially. We're both open-minded people with a childlike sense of wonder for the natural world and the people we meet. We both have a hard time taking anything too seriously.
PHILOSOPHY
People matter. The earth does too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We've been fortunate enough to have a wonderful couchsurfing experience overseas once, and meet some new couchsurfers at a get-together recently. We're still relatively new to Couch-surfing, but we're quickly gaining experience. We're both extremely hospitable, respectful people. We'd lend a couch to a friendly traveler, and we hope the new friends we meet will do the same.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We had our first wonderful couchsurfing experience in Dublin, Ireland, when someone was kind enough to let us stay over and talk with us throughout an evening. We also recently attended a Couchsurfing get-together with some other new people we had not met before in Delmar, New York. We most recently traveled to Montreal and stayed with three different groups of awesome hosts and had a fantastic experience. Last year we had a visitor from Uruguay stay over during her visit for an international agriculture club summit. It was a lot of fun!
Interests
We're interested in good breakfast, coffee, all sorts of music, beautiful vistas, good beer, funny people, plastic googly eyes, Dr. Who, agriculture, different cultures, cycling, gardening, food, politics, pastries, family, puns, glass blowing, zombies, and slippers.

Music, Movies, and Books
Bad movies, nonfiction books, and different music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tyler used to spend his sunsets as a child watching whales spouting in the distance with his parents in Northern California. Chantal lived in the Netherlands for three separate years at three different points in her life.
Teach, Learn, Share
We're not just products of our environment. If we keep an open mind and share what we learn our environment becomes a product of us. Hopefully that environment includes coffee.
Chantal is learning about Environmental Science and Policy and learning quantitative decision making, and Tyler is gaining experience using Geographic Information Science for Public Health and the Environment. Chantal is a good vegetarian cook, and Tyler can edit papers pretty well.
