About Me

I have been studying in Glasgow for 4 years now. But I am not just a student. I try to live an epicurean, optimistic, active, sharing, open-minded and loving life. I really think that life is too precious to miss out what it can offer. that's why I am really into travelling and have a strong desire to meet new people and new cultures. I want to to open my mind and not get stuck in my Western culture. I use my spare time for a lot of different things. I like to hike in the Scottish Islands, to go climbing, to have drinks with friends either at a pub, or indoors, to read, to watching authors movies or documentaries, to have dinner with people that I live with, etc.
Speaking of which, a year ago, I have decided to start a small community in Glasgow. That's why I found a big flat and some lovely people interested with the idea of sharing our everyday life. I don't know if we are a hippie community but we are definitely an alternative flatshare with members sharing same values about life, people and who are respectful about each other, their lives and their freedom. Hopefully if you are coming to be hosted, you will see what I am talking about. ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said before, I really love travelling. One reason is that I am really interested by different cultures, to meet people from different horizons, and try to grasp their way of living in order to open my mind. Of course, I am also interested visiting different countries and see their beautiful sights, but it's not my first motivation.
What I have learnt through my travel is that I don't want to be "just another tourist". I have discovered that by living with locals for couple of days, you learn so much more about the culture and the city that wouldn't learn by staying 2 months in a hotel, surrounded by other tourists. I really enjoyed the few experiences that I've had couchsurfing. I thought that I could give back to people interested in travelling by helping them meet new people and locals (I'm not from Scotland, but some of the people that I live with are). I believe that helping each other in our everyday lives is essential, and welcoming people in my spare space is one of the ways of doing so. Our flat is couch surfing friendly, and we are all happy to meet new people and host them.

Music, Movies, and Books

If I had to choose my favorite band at the moment, it probably will be the beatles. But there is so much more. I like chill electronic music, rock, pop, raggea, rap, indie music. The only think that I don't like is jazz.
One movie? Silence of lambs or Blue is the warmest color.
On book? A new earth from Echart Tolle or Seper hero, Le voyage interdit qui a donné sens à ma vie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2 years ago, I have done the "Camino de Santiago", starting from France, with two of my best friend. We walked 800 km in 1 month 1/2. Probably THE best experience in my life. I used it as a way to discover myself, meeting people from everywhere, which were looking for spirituality, were on a religious path, or just having holiday. On this walk, a nice routine started. We woke up around 6 am everyday and walked for 5-6h, alone or with people, sharing food, water, pain, experiences. When we arrived at hostels, we used this time to chill, read, write or socialise with other pilgrims. Pilgrims are quickly becoming your friends and you share everything with them. On this path, what you do in life, your job, how much you are earning, is absolutely not important. Classism, Racism, Homophobia, Xenophobia are inexistent. Who you are is what matters. The life that goes through you is what matter. Through that, connecting with other people is so much easier, more authentic and more real. A mentality that I am trying to keep, since then.
