My name is Charlotte, a very open minded Dutch girl. In my current position I deal with spatial planning, city design and sustainable city development. We do have to decline your request if you do not mention the color of your toothbrush, due to a lot of insincere requests. I'm bubbly, a bit nerdy and very curious about the world. It takes about an hour to get to our home from Schiphol/Amsterdam. If you come by bike it is a great area to explore. I live here with Jan Jaap (husband) who is called Jip most of the time.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I love to travel and discover new places. By staying with local people in a new city you just dive right in the culture. They know the best spots and the must-do's and I love those tips. Besides that I like to meet new people and make friends, especially when I travel by myself.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love fantasy books like Feist and Rowling. Music: I like anything with some sort of melody. I love to make music myself as well (singing, playing the violin and since a few weeks I'm trying to master guitar). Movies: I prefer series over movies but I love Disney.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
This year I've been on a three week roadtrip (honeymoon) around Denmark, Norway and Sweden. We've hikes around the mountains, sailed the fjords, biked on the railway and bought a very ugly Christmas ornament.

I can tell you all about the Netherlands, show you around (sometimes even in Amsterdam after work) and give you some local insides. I like to get to know new people and learn from them.

My Interests
Besides traveling I love sports. I like watching games, but also getting a little work done myself. I love ballroomdancing, which I practice two times a week. When the wheater is any good I love to go sailing or windsurfing. I love making music with my friends, get something to drink and just have a good time in general.
