Overview
About Me
I asked my 9-year old cousin what I should write here. She said, "Just tell them you like cats. People on the internet love cats."
I grew up in and around Cape Town. And like all true Cape Tonians I share a deep love for good wine, good food and the outdoors.
I studied politics, philosophy and economics- three things every good dinner party needs.
And I now work in climate change and sustainable development- not as great at dinner parties, but I can certainly help you sort out your recycling.
I've backpacked through much of southern Africa, and I'm reeeally laid back. My travel plans are almost always flexible and I'm always happy to fit in with whats happening.
Just in case, here is a video of a cat:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm new to couchsurfing, but I'm keen to meet new people, and find out more about the place they call home.
Interests
I'm determined to be a gardener. I just need to find tougher plants.
I love scuba diving.
I make a mean Cape Malay curry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacking in Mozambique, we came across a deserted beach in the middle of the night- deserted except for the millions of small crabs in the moonlight.
We took off our shoes and ran like hell- screaming as the crabs either dashed out of our way or tried to pinch our toes as we sped past.
Probably the bravest thing I've ever done- even more than the 204m Bungee jump at Bloukrans.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've lived in a houseshare for a number of years, part of which has been sharing meals and swapping recipes with housemates from around the world.
My favourites include sweet potato cake from Reunion Island, Cape Malay chicken curry, home-made samoosas and chilli bites and Tomato bredie.
I was vegetarian for a bit, and more than happy to cook veggie/vegan-friendly food.
