About Me

I'm a recent college graduate traveling the world for the next year (August 2016-August 2017) on a fellowship exploring mental health therapies in various communities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was travelling with a few other backpackers and have surfed with some hosts near Gosford and Palm Beach. I loved meeting locals so much that I decided to make my own account to try for myself! I love staying in hostels but would rather get to know locals in the area. Wouldn't mind making friends around the world as well. :)

Interests

Although I wouldn't say I'm an outdoors person, I do love meandering and taking long walks wherever I'm traveling. Enjoy drinks and chill socializing as much as the next person and especially love underground music scenes and open mic shows. If you know of any good venues in the area I'd love to know!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Anything by Cormac McCarthy, Donna Tartt, fantasy novels, YA lit, Queer YA lit, if you really wanna know my book tastes check out my Goodreads profile.

Movies/TV: Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Veronica Mars, etc. I don't really do movies because it's so hard to stay focused for so long but when I do I like to dabble mainly in horror films or anything in the style of Tarantino, Linklater.

Music: Right now I've been listening to a lot of Christine and the Queens, Beatrice Eli, MADE IN HEIGHTS, Modest Mouse, Sia, The 1975, AURORA, CHVRCHES, ODESZA, Jon Bellion, etc. My general vibe tends to be electric beatz with some smooth acoustic overlays. Indie and acousitc, house and hip-hop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In high school I was a martial arts instructor for a few years. I've lived in a yoga ashram for a few weeks as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love talking about capitalism, mental health, social justice issues, pop culture, politics and also more light-hearted conversations.

I can teach you how to spin poi or perform a fire show!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great company, the intricacies of American culture (including but not limited to the (now election) of Donald Drumpf, why Kansas is so flat, and those Damn Millennials™). Really though I love having engaging conversations about cross-cultural differences over a bottle of wine while listening to great tunes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Denmark, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Singapore, Sweden, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Italy, United States
