HI CSers! G'day!
This is Vanessa! I have been in Australia for working holiday since the end of 2017. Currently in Queensland avoiding the cold weather in Victoria!
It is a very interesting and exciting year for me to be in Australia. I got to experience the outback lifestyle and meet many nice Aussie and backpackers from all over the world.
My first stop was Melbourne and then I moved up north to Cairns. I havent seen anything in the Northern and Western Australia yet, not mentioning Tassy. I will do that next.
Some info about me: bachelor degree at Urban Planning, worked in an Italian restaurant and an Irish pup in college, social worker in a government office before quitting for this OZ trip, Love music ( Smiths, Oasis, Libertines, Babyshambles, Suede, Pulp and other Britpop bands, good blues and Garage rock, Opera of all kinds), plays guitar, ukulele etc, fluent in English ( IELTS 7.5), learning Russian, passionate about life and meeting new people, open minded to accept different cultures and talk about different topics, never afraid to try new things, support LBGT rights, female rights and animal rights, fast learner who taught herself Traditional Chinese Medicine Chiropractic theories, great cook who led her own food tour in Guangzhou (ask her anything about Cantonese food!). Traveled to Vietnam and Russia in the past.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I read about this amazing website called couchsurfing on some local newspaper so I joined. It s a great idea to provide a platform for people from all over the world to actually help each other and get to know them better through traveling. It is for sure a brilliant idea.

My major CS experience: I sometimes join the CS meeting in town. I hosted a few travelers. I showed some travelers around town. When I travel to other places I also meet up with other hosts/ travelers. I usually prefer to stay at hostels/ hotels but I would also host travelers myself. I expect my guests to be civilized and respectful.

Highlight -- I am an all time fan of the great and almighty Smiths! If you are a Smiths fan we will have so much to talk about and sing together....

For movies, I particularly enjoy everything that s cleverly made.

Teach, Learn, Share

Music is my passion and I never turn down a jam. I am pretty good at cooking. I like making Indian , Mexican, some basic Arabic food. I teach myself French and Spanish as well so if anyone can be my teacher I would be super glad. Familiar with traditional and modern Chinese culture. I speak Mandarin and Cantonese, so if you wanna learn Chinese, I can help. I once worked in a restaurant as a host/ waitress/ bartender, so I have decent knowledge about alcohol and mix drinks.
