ABOUT ME
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I ask that if you're going to ask for me to host you, that you read it fully, it's here for a reason.
I'm a English teacher for English First in Jakarta by weekday and an avid traveler and explorer by week night and weekend. I'm a down to earth, laid back guy. Zero stress, even when the going is tough.
I'm a massive Liverpool fan, so everyone is welcome except Man United or Everton fans (joking of course).
Asides from this, I have to say that I am all about travelling and new places. I love to see new landscapes and cities, I've been all over the world in my few years, but I want to go to so many more places!
PHILOSOPHY
My own philosophy is summed in three quotes
"The world is a book, if you don't travel, you don't get past the 1st page." St Augustine (And for the record, I love to read)
"When your at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on" Roosevelt
"Whats the worse that can happen?" ME!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to participate in all ways possible.
I am extremely active in the forums, giving advice and of course asking for it.
I will always try to host someone when possible, I have done it a few times, with an old housemate who was an extremely active surfer! I love every second
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experience with couch surfing has been totally excellent.
It is because of this site that I have met some truly brilliant people and had some amazing experiences.
Interests
My main interests is seeing new and unusual places. I love looking at new landscapes and meeting new people.
Particularly my love for meeting now people is one of driving reasons for being on couchsurfing. For me, I could be in the worst places in the world and be happy, so long as the company is excellent and interesting.
I love football and rugby, with my teams being Liverpool and Leicester Tigers respectively. I also really love music and pull off some pretty decent chords on the old six string.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am pretty varied here, I like most old rock music, pretty much all decent films.
I am avid Tolkein and Anne Rice fan.
I would say that it was Lord of the rings and The hobbit, which really stoked my passion for travel - the beach by Alex Garland has to be mentioned here as well.
Additionally I have just started on the game of thrones series. Which I must say is epic, certainly in the Tolkein style. Thought not quite there yet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My three most amazing moments in life have come during my travels,
1 having a herd of elephants walk literally 10 yards in front of me in Zambia.
2 Simply being in the Atlantic rainforest in Brazil and seeing such a unique and rare habitat
3 Arriving in Santiago after finishing the way of St James

Teach, Learn, Share
I know everything about football and rugby, so if you've never watched these sports and want to know the rules, I am your man! Football especially as I actually spent some time as a qualified referee.
I also play the guitar and bass, so I could even teach you a few notes.
Now I also teach English as a qualified TEFL teacher. I really hope to use this aid my travelling, but in the meantime, I am more than happy to give you a few lessons to the excellent people I may meet!
