About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work hard in service of a better world, play and love as much as possible.

ABOUT ME

I have lived most of my life in Chicago. I am currently a performance artist traveling and touring. I like making performances and hosting parties/events, and I also teach Cultural Studies and Womens/Gender Studies as an adjunct factulty member at 2 colleges.

PHILOSOPHY

I am interested in creating performance and visual art work that is directly political, critically conscious, and community building.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy hosting and surfing, and stalk the Chicago CouchSurfers hoping to make it to an event.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been a house guest many times in many different places, although not officially with CouchSurfing. Most recently I spent 3 weeks in Moscow with a friend. I have had many people stay with me in my apartment for various reasons, including hosting visiting artists I did not know. I enjoy both hosting and staying with people in their homes!

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading: Mab Segrest's Memoir of a Race Traitor, Daniel Pinchbeck's 2012, Chris Rose's One Dead in Attic, Alan Weisman's The World Without Us.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have found few things more amazing than a silent canoe ride on a lake in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan when the air is cooling and creating fog on the surface of the water.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a pretty good cook, I can facilitate groups of people, I've done a lot of fundraising, I programmed my own web site in Dreamweaver, I can teach cultural theory and I have a special expertise in the study of whiteness and white supremacy from an anti-racist point of view.

Countries I’ve Visited

Japan, Mexico, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Russian Federation, United States
