About Me

I grew up in SE Idaho, but have spent time living and traveling in Utah, Hawaii, California, Colombia, Israel, and Japan. However, I am currently back in my hometown of Pocatello, ID, since the birth of my son in 2012. I am CEO and co-owner of a small bamboo ski pole company called Panda Poles. Between running a business and helping raise my son, I keep pretty busy. I am pretty low maintainence. I always try to leave my surroundings better than I found them. I love making connections with like minded individuals, and really look forward to connecting with others on this platform!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally had a Couchsurfing account way back in the day (maybe 2006 or so), when I was traveling a lot. When I stopped traveling after I started my business and had a kid, I lost touch with my Couchsurfing account and community. This time around, I'm using it because I will be skiing down at Powder Mountain this season, and am trying to find places nearby to stay for a few nights here and there. Being that Pocatello is a little over 2 hours from Powder, it would be ideal to not have to drive back and forth more than once a week. I had been considering sleeping in my car, and really just need a place to dry my gear and cook a little bit of food here and there. If I find a place/host that really vibes with me, I would even be open to helping pay rent to make it a more regular situation for the winter.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is definitely a very important part of my life. I've been DJing since 2013, and generally play a smattering of bass music. But I can get down to anything that was done with talent. My favorite genres would be downtempo hip hop, deep house, break beats, and downtempo step. For movies, I like mainly comedy. And for books, my favorite author is Bruce Lipton. His book "Spontaneous Evolution" is one of my all time favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once spent over 76 hours on buses and stuffed in the backs of trucks, while traveling throughout Colombia over the span of 2 weeks, during which time I attended 6 shamanic ceremonies with the Cofan Tribe of Amazonas and central Colombia.

Teach, Learn, Share

In the new paradigm which has been ushered in by the groundbreaking work in epigenetics, there is now a mounting pile of evidence which suggests that we are not the victims of our genes, but rather that our belief structure elicits specific expressions of the genes themselves. It is basically that we control our physical health by what we tell our genes though our thoughts and emotions. And being that 90% of our thoughts and emotions are controlled by the subconscious programming we acquired mostly before the age of 6 (while our minds were operating on Delta and Theta brainwaves only), much of what we experience in our lives (both in terms of health and success) is determined primarily by what we observed and experienced in the first 6 or 7 years of life. Fortunately there is a host new therapies which can address and alleviate many issues underlying our limiting belief structures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am open to help in whatever way I can. I am not the best cook, but I would be willing to help in the kitchen. I love to provide intelligent, insightful conversation, or just allow for peace and silence. Not that I expect too many people to immediately feel the level of trust necessary for this, but I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (graduated UCMT in 2006), and would be willing to providing some bodywork. Also, I guess I could provide business consultation, video production, social media, or anything relating to getting an idea off the ground. I love helping people dream big, and help give them the tools and ideas to help get the ball rolling.
