Overview
About Me
Hmm.. I consider myself an environmentalist and I like to live in ways that reflect that. I try to be open to experiencing life deeply and with empathy. I like to question what I'm told to believe.
I currently live at a co-op called The Beet - we started it just over a year ago to foster a space in which we can live radically, sustainably, and pushing social norms to their boundaries. We like creating together and being a community space.
Also, I work for a small non-profit working on climate and energy policy... aka let's not burn the planet for the sake of some profit, please and thanks. I love to cook and build things and organize folks in my communities to stand up for what they believe in!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on cs because I like sharing and learning to trust strangers. In my co-op in Boulder, we've hosted lots of folks who have brought a lot of positive energy into the community. Also, it seems like a great way to meet people while traveling and learn more about a place.
Interests
I love dreaming of possibilities of building a better future. And then turning some of those dreams into action. I'm passionate about sustainability, social justice and equality. I'm by no means perfect in any of those areas, but I like to push myself and learn. I also love riding my bike and living the car-free life. I'm passionate about community building and art and cooking. Also breakfast is the best meal and should be savored.... just saying. Also dancing!!

Music, Movies, and Books
On the music front, my tastes are pretty fluid. Right now, I have a soft spot for Regina Spektor, The Tallest Man on Earth, Gregory Alan Isakov, the Blue Scholars and Ani Difranco. I don't think I have a favorite movie and I'm on the search for a favorite book. Thus far I've like 'Sirens of Titan', 'Shantaram' and 'Norwegien Wood' are among my favorites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watched the sunrise on the bow of a tiny boat traveling down the Amazon, cracking open Brazil nuts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am kind of a geek about a few things and love to share, discuss and learn - climate change, social justice, energy issues, community living and bicycles!
I also like to cook and share food. I'm a vegetarian and love cooking food that makes even meat eaters excited.
