Overview
About Me
I'm originally from DC but live outside NYC now. Coming from such a diverse community makes me truly appreciate differences between us. I'm passionate about a lot of things and enjoy that feeling of really engaging in whatever is at hand.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've started going more places for work conferences and light travel, where I'm not there for long and want to spend time around people getting to know the area.
Interests
I love languages, written and spoken. I love cooking, mainly because I like eating and the community that food creates. I've been throughout the world and enjoy the process of traveling and exploring. Some of my hobbies include skating and surfing, diving, gardening, people watching. I revel in being outside. Art. Lots of art, of all types.

Music, Movies, and Books
I was a punk and goth kid, then a raver, now I'm all over the place. Wes Anderson for his play with scale. Kurt Vonnegut. But mostly non fiction. I read a good amount of poetry too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I packed two suitcases and set out to learn Spanish in Paraguay when I was 15. While there, I hitchhiked on a chicken truck to rio for carnaval. In hindsight it was pretty silly, but at the time, I thought it was awesome.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like learning from others. I believe that people learn best when in contact, not in a vacuum.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories. About places and people. Also lots of trivia. Random facts. And I know a few things too.
Countries I’ve Lived In
Brazil, Paraguay
