I am 60 years old. I have reared my children alone and worked hard all my life. I am interested in everything and everyone. I love challenges, I am a great cook. I love the outdoors, walking, cycling, swimming, scuba diving and everything else. I see life as one huge adventure. We all make mistakes but that's what makes us who we are. I see the glass as half full. I am positive in attitude and believe in karma. I have a beautiful ancient home dating back to 1480 in Shrewsbury. I have two wonderful children of whom I am very proud.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because now is my time. My daughter is now at university and after some juggling with my business I have enabled myself this time to travel. I am travelling around France, Italy and Germany. My dream is to explore Florence. Not as a tourist but as a Florentine. I don't want to rush and I need someone to show me the real Florence and educate me about this wondrful city. I then hope to go to Siena and Rome and then drive leisurely back to the UK. This is not a holiday for me but more a journey of exploration. Of these wonderful countries and also of myself. I hope to be a more rounded and enlightened person at the end of it. I ant o make friends along the way and offer the same hospitality to couchsurfers who want somewhere to stay in Shrewsbury.

Interests

Road cycling, swimming, gym, scuba diving, walking, cooking, theatre, reading, self-development, coaching, mindfulness, entertaining, being sociable and being a great friend, mother and sister.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love rock, soul, some jazz, classical and live music of all sorts. I barely get time to read but I buy every cook book I come across. One can never have too many cook books.
Movies....I rely on my son to recommend these.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Left a husband with no home and no job and 7 weeks later had bought and renovated an office block into a 4 bedroomed B & B, was able to house my children and earn a living!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am of a happy positive disposition. I am well trained, clean and tidy and am happy to do whatever I can to be of help. I have a lifetime of interesting and challenging experiences that I have come through and I am happy to share these. I have run a number of businesses including a successful bed and breakfast and restaurant. I am a great cook and am more than happy to cook for my host and would love to learn new recipes and skills. I am good company and I can return their hospitality in my own home.
