Hi. My name is Chris, 27 years old, born and raised in Lucerne, Switzerland.

After finishing my bachelor's degree in Switzerland, I wanted to explore something new. A new culture, a new language and a new lifestyle. I decided to move to San Diego, California in order to get my Master's degree. The two years it took me to get that degree were simply amazing. Because I lived with two really cool guys in a house, I got to know a lot of their friends and discovered San Diego as a resident and not a tourist. And this is exactly why I want to couchsurf - I want to get to know the locals and be involved in the local community as much as possible - I don't really like to only go visit places, do some sightseeing and move onto the next place.
Making the decision whether to leave San Diego or not was pretty darn hard after having spent two years there. Eventually I decided to move back to Switzerland and get a Job here because of the better job market.
Having worked 1.5 years for the big corporate world, I realized what I have already known before: This can't be it! There is so much more to see in this world and so many more people to meet, so many more things to do and so many more places to go that working in a office and fulfilling unfulfilling tasks just doesn't make any sense. Of course, we all need money but I could save some and so I decided to quit my job and do what my heart tells me to do: travel ;)

I've got a lot of friends that have been using this community and ALL of them say it's great - what I don't doubt at all.
I think it's the best way to get in touch with open-minded and easy-going locals. It automatically brings together the like-minded people :)

兴趣

I love sports (pretty much anything from hiking to surfing...), meeting new people & friends, eating, socializing having a beer and going out.
