Overview
About Me
I’m an IT Systems Analyst, a mother of two grown kids, and a wife. I’ve been busy taking care of my family for the last 20 years and I’ve recently embarked on a journey of self discovery and self love. I’m looking to broaden my horizons and find meaningful connections to this world we live in.
I grew up as a military dependent, my father being a Marine. I’ve spent most of my life in Southern California but lived in Wisconsin for a short period where my father is from. I spent much of my childhood bumming and sponging at the beach. I still find the beach to be a place of refuge and peace when the rat race gets to me. There’s nothing quite like warm white sand, the sound of waves crashing, and the smell of the sea to brighten your day!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
An old man, maybe in his late 70s , a volunteer ranger I met at Montezuma’s Castle near Sedona Arizona told me about couch surfing. He and his wife have been doing it and it sounded so adventurous, not just at their age but any age! I have had an expired passport for over a decade and haven’t travelled outside of North America in almost 20 years. I want to see the world and this sweet old man taught me it’s not too late! I now have my passport and I’m ready!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have an eclectic taste in music which ranges from classical/symphony to classic rock and everything in between.
My favorite movie right now is The Greatest Showman but my favorite of all time is Beaches.
I don’t read a lot of fiction so I’m more into self-help books and history.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met Margaret Thatcher when i was a child and have always admired her strength and courage as an independent thinker and woman.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know all the hidden jewels of much of San Diego when it comes to great family attractions and nature. My kids and I have visited most of them when they were little.
I’m not much for clubbing, partying, or bar hopping since I no longer drink but I can point you in the right direction.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my knowledge of sourdough bread making, Filipino cuisine, and laughs.
