After moving all over America as a child and graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison I am now living in Nakijin, Okinawa.

I am looking to connect with people from all over the world while sharing what I can. Couchsurfing is a great way to authentically experience the things that make so many places unique!

My favorite band is They Might Be Giants but I will listen to anything! I really enjoy listening to music from around the world as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In August 2015, I had the chance to participate in a local festival where men climb a mountain after creating hand made rope garments. They then adorn their clothes with leaves, branches, and flowers from the top of the hill, and march down into the ocean. After removing their ropes, the men enter the sea and for the rest of the day they are referred to as sama, or god. Unfortunately, this deity status lasts for only 24 hours when the women regain their rightful positions as gods.
