About Me

ABOUT ME

I guess most people would say I'm very outgoing, friendly, and honest. I follow the golden rule, treat others as you would want to be treated. I am gracious to people who are kind to me. I am a leader and an organizer, and I like to set concrete plans in advance. I am pretty flexible however, and can adapt to a new situation pretty quickly. I love languages and word-play and I'm sometimes called the Queen of Puns.

Interests

I love languages! The power of the word is beyond any other. I also love visual and performing arts (painting, drawing, comics, storytelling, theatre). There is no meaning to life if you can't express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
I spend my time practicing martial arts like taekwondo, running, reading fantasy novels, sketching, or meeting friends. These days I also spend a lot of time studying languages (currently Korean and Japanese).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I participated in Costa Rica Rainforest Outward Bound in 2007. We'd hiked up the following afternoon to a small inn perched on the top of a mountain ridge. I still remember when I awoke in the morning to the serene beauty of mountain peaks hidden behind the mists, I had my break taken away.

I had a similar experience in Seorak Mountain in Gangwon-do, South Korea. A friend and I hiked to the 1,500 meter summit Daechongbong without realizing how far or how much time that would take. When we arrived at the peak, it was too late in the day to hike down. We were lucky enough to get a spot in the shelter, though we hadn't packed enough food. The Korean group next too us were so generous and offered us ramen, hardboiled eggs, and soju. They even let us use one of their spare blankets!
Though the scenery the next morning was awe-inspiring, I am more impressed by the kindness of my fellow hikers.
