ABOUT ME

I'm retired (at 50 years old) and enjoy travel as well as hiking, biking, boating, cooking, gardening, skiing, etc:
I volunteer with two different organizations that work on hiking trails all over the US and in Washington State. Have done this for 11 years and really enjoy giving something back after hiking these trails for many years. Keeps me young also.
I also enjoy making some pretty darn good red wines. Have been involved in wine making since 2003.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am active in a biking club in Snohomish County as well as two hiking clubs.. Also enjoy getting out on the Harley or Honda.

I get outdoors whenever I can.. (snow-shoeing and skiing in Winter and hiking, biking and boating the rest of the year)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had my first CS reservation in Portland, ME in September 2011.. Was great..

Also hosted someone for two nights in October but the request came through 'Be Welcome', not CS.
Have hosted many from Europe (Spain, Italy, Germany and France) as well 11 US States including WA.

Interests

Travel international as well as the US.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled extensively in Europe, South America and Asia..

Been to Italy, Nepal, Africa and Tibet on extensive treks.

Visited all the U.S. States except: Tennessee, Louisiana, and West Virginia. I guess I haven't found a reason for them yet?

Also visited most of the Canadian Provinces. Missed: Quebec, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
