About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Searching for peace and joy

ABOUT ME

Good health, good humor, non-smoker, not much of a typist. I see from some other CS entries that some people are very good about telling their stories. I want to let other CSs know about me because it seems like a terrific group of people.

We have grown children, and we see them when we can. We miss seeing them more often, but we all have busy lives. I have been around most of the West Coast of the USA while I was in the US Navy. My experiences in the far east were very positive and I really enjoy meeting new people from every kind of background. Jane has lived here much of her life.

PHILOSOPHY

Wow- I'm working on it. Not as articulate as I'd like but ... Tree-hugger, x-hippy, lover of most everything, ...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am excited about opportunities in CS. I met some CSers at a party hosted by Liz, Caroline, and Romina. Also been to other events including Movie nights hosted by Zach. I have posted our house as a place to stay for snowboarding or tubing at Sunburst ski hill in Kewaskum.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

At first, I had a reference from one stay in Milwaukee. I also hosted Mala from New Zealand for three days as she traveled the USA. Since then we have hosted and enjoyed being guests. In the past, I hitch-hiked and picked up hitch-hikers sometimes staying with the same people for weeks. Great fun and enjoyable. I welcome the chance to have more guests or get to know other Surfers locally too. I belong to a local group from the CandelLight Collective and enjoy their spirit - many of them are either in CS or have hitch-hiking experience as well.

Interests

Reading, biking, pot-lucks are a great way to get to work with people and get to know them - preparing food to share. I like films and would consider making a documentary video. I currently have been writing a screenplay and enjoy working out the details.

Music, Movies, and Books

mostly non-fiction books, all kinds. Music - everything is open for possibilities. Movies - I like all kinds but since I have a film background I tend to be critical.
I like science and technology in literature and films. Fav films - Legends of the Fall, Nell, Contact, Big, Peggy Sue got Married, T2, Enemy of the State ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When walking up a mountain path in Alberta about 2AM, I looked up at the Milky Way blazing across the sky and crossing it's path at a right angle was horizon to horizon Northern lights. WOW! This is one of the most moving sights I have ever seen! The night sky has held me in awe since I was about eight.

Teach, Learn, Share

Aside from sharing knowledge about the things we do in our everyday life, I have lots of experience in Photography. If you need some advise - I'll be glad to share what I know about all aspects - lighting, exposure, content, equipment etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

When we stay with you - I love to cook and we can help in the kitchen on prep or let us loose and will come up with a suprise. I'm pretty handy, so if you need help let me know and I can wreck your stuff just easily as I do mine.
