About Me

CURRENT MISSION

So, to be honest, I guess my mission is to find inexpensive lodging as a person traveling in a group with fellow peers with little money in our pockets. Not only that, but it would be a great way to get the best vibe of the local culture.

ABOUT ME

Well, hhhhhhm. I am an odd ball if I do say so myself. I came from an agricultural background but from my appearance I don't often look the part. I chose to study art and still enjoy being creative, but I often still find my barrings on the family farm. I LOVE my family and I honestly don't know where I'd be without them. I have friends from a WIDE variety of backgrounds; and when I say a wide variety, I mean a wide variety. I love the outdoors and FOOD! I'm a huge Disney fan and love old school architecture.

PHILOSOPHY

To quote the Avett Brothers' parents (and my own to a certain extent), "Just do your best, it's the only way to keep that last bit of sanity."

To quote the Beatles, "All you need is love."

To quote a Jamba Juice cup, "Life experiences are like quarters, you lose both of them while sitting around on the couch."

Stop and smell the roses.

To quote Anna Naleck "Just Breathe."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far this is my first time participating in couch surfing, but I've had friends that have been a part of this worldly community and have nothing but good things to say about it. I would love to further participate in this program; so if anybody plans to come to California, you have an open invitation (keep in mind, not all of California is like L.A. or San Francisco; no I don't see movie stars on a daily basis, not even a yearly basis, not unless through the television).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experience; will be experienced soon though hopefully. If it's anything like surfing in the ocean, I should be okay (though I highly doubt it) . . . seeing that couch surfing doesn't really involve water.

Interests

I enjoy woodworking, drawing, watching classic films, more recently reading, running, hiking, and being outdoors. Oh, did I say eating? AND EATING! And last but not least, going on walks, eating, and getting coffee/tea with friends and family.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I love Where the Red Fern Grows, Eat Pray Love, The Measure of a Man, Of Mice and Men, The Red Pony, and the Crucible. Movies: I love old classics particularly Charade and Singing in the Rain. I also like more current movies like Erin Brokovich, the Shawshank Redemption, 61, and The Lion King (pretty much any Disney movie but that one is my favorite). Music: I pretty much will listen to anything as long as the singer is not yelling at me (like screamo) because I often listen to music to relax and I find it pointless to listen to music that screams (however some people like it—no offense to those that do, it just doesn't work for me). Lately I've particularly enjoyed bluegrass, neo-country bluegrass (The Avett Brothers and Ray LaMontagne), and instrumental guitar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Man, I just keep sounding more and more like a country bumpkin with all the things I'm typing, but one of the most amazing things I've ever seen is when my friend Christina played with her heifer like it was a dog.

Teach, Learn, Share

The California Central Valley, where I live, is one of the most productive regions of agriculture in the world. The term "cow" does not apply to all cattle: a cow is a female cattle that has calfed and produces milk, a heifer is a female cattle that has not yet calfed, a calf is a baby cattle, a steer is a male cattle that has been castrated, and a bull is a male cattle that still has all of its man parts.

I would like to know . . . what European country has the best kind of gelatto? What is the best piece of art in the Louvre? What is the best place for a post-night-out breakfast in Barcelona?
