Hi there, I am Colin. How do you do? It is a pleasure to meet you!

On September 9th, 2014 I set out on a ten month motorcycle odyssey to see the world and figure out what I really want to do with the rest of my life. The rough plan is to ride from Canada to Ushaia, Argentina (southern most city in the world) with nothing but my wits and a shiny credit card to get me there.

Along the way I hope to see the sites, meet the people, learn the history, eat the food, drink the beer, and maybe even learn some Spanish along the way. Essentially I want to cram as many incredible experiences into 10 months as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For most of this trip I have been camping and Hosteling which is a great way to travel and meet people from all over the world but you rarely get to meet locals who actually live and work in the places you are visiting. I am hoping that Couchsurfing will allow me to meet some great people who can teach me about their city and country.

Interests

As you may have guessed, I am a motorcycle enthusiast (I have been riding since I was 4 years old!) but that not my only passion...

I am also a Pilot! Which means I love all things related to airplanes. I am also a glider instructor pilot so I have spent the last few summers teaching teenagers how to fly. I would love to take you for a flight sometime.

Since I am am Canadian I have a long winter to contend with. To help me get through the long dark months I enjoy snowmobiling, downhill, and cross country skiing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have taught 4 people how to fly! Not by just flapping their arms but in real airplanes! When I earned my pilots wings it was the fulfillment of one of my lifelong dreams. Now I am very proud of the fact that I have helped other people fulfill their own dreams of flight.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I am traveling on a motorcycle I can offer free lessons to anyone who cares to learn. I also offer endless stories from my adventures on the road.

In addition to this I make a legendary Eggs Benedict and passable crepes! Plus I'm not afraid to do the dishes afterwards.
