PHILOSOPHY

Hello everybody! My name is Mariano, and together with my wife Adriana and our 22-month-old daughter, Aylén, decided to go back to nature after living in noisy, maddening Buenos Aires.
About a year ago we moved into Federal (north of Entre Rios), a town located in the heart of the so-called "Selva de Montiel", home of the ñandubay, the espinillo, the tala, the carob tree, the chañar, and countless species of birds. This is a place where agriculture and fumigation are hardly heard of. Here, protected by a bylaw that forbids the use and transit of agrochemicals, we started building our simple home, which is about 6m2 by 6m2. We have already set up the foundations, installed the roof, made the subfloor, and put up two walls made up of clay bricks. We have already made 6,000 bricks, which are waiting to be used. We also have the bathroom plumbing and space for the dry bathroom.
We are setting up an organic orchard for a self-sustaining lifestyle. The orchard still lacks a proper wire fence to protect it from sheep, horses, and cows. So far, it is only protected by tree branches and the like.
As it is, the work ahead of us is rather demanding, and this is very complicated for us, given the fact that we have to look after our little daughter as well.
We need helping hands to help us build our house
We would like you to help us make our dream come true, and that maybe make our dreams become part of yours... a noble synergy indeed!
We would like to invite you to take part in the building of our home. In order to do so, it would be necessary for each person o group of people to bring their own tents, sleeping bags, toiletries, torches, and footwear (including wellington boots).
We have electrical power and fresh well water. Adriana makes vegetarian (and non-vegetarian!) food, but if anybody feels like cooking, he/she is welcome to do so! There is a toilet and a small shower.
Federal is located 500 km from Buenos Aires, and it can be reached by two daily coach services (Flecha Bus and Expreso Singer), leaving from Retiro at 10 pm and arriving in Federal at 6 am. It can also be reached by other coach services from Rosario, Cordoba and Posadas. The farm is located 10 km from Federal and we own a pickup van to get into town whenever necessary.
The food expenses will be met by ourselves, but we accept contributions (either money or food).
You are welcome to stay as long as you wish or can. What matters is that, apart from enjoying the place, you can lend us a willing and busy hand.
