ABOUT ME

I am a semi-retired PhD Psychology professor and I currently live in Daytona Beach,Florida. ..I have taught at Bethune-
Cookman University,Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University,Rollins College,FCCJ in Jacksonville,Fla,Albany State in Albany,Georgia,St.Johns River Community College,St.Augustine,Fla
and Daytona State College.I am a graduate of the

institutions: Gannon University in Erie,Pa, Wichita State University,Wichita, Kansas,and the University of Missouri-Columbia. I am currently writing my autobiography which would include and coming at the heels of the movie THE KING's SPEECH,I have decided to include a chapter on MICHAEL'SPEECH: Journey in and out of stuttering.I am also a mobile disc jockey and I am currently the DJ at THE MEDITERRANEAN EXPERIENCE CAFE in Downtown Daytona Beach.I find Psychology and
music an interesting combination.
I have been a member of another organization called SERVAS.
Basically I am interestd in the varietity of mindsets
among couchsurfers and the reasons for the various mindsets.However I make it clear that the U.S is not
a country,it is an "idea",neither is the U.S a nation of white people,but a nation of "laws." An American is not a white person.Although there are varieties of experiences from different hosts,couchsurfers should take advantage of surfing,not only with Eurocentric hosts,but also broaden their American experience
with different races,ethnicities,professionals,and middle and later adults.Diversity and surprises are good for the expansion of the couchsurfer's human brain. I can also introduce couchsurfers
to understand issues of non-immigrants and immigrants as they move and out of various cultures.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer thoughts and ideas to assist in critical
thinking about cultures,nationalities,and the historical
and the American experience and to point out that the United States is the only country in the world that is based on an "idea" and that the U.S is a "nation of laws" .Show surfers a goodtime at and meet globalized
residents from Russia,Germany,Ukraine,Central &South America,and the Caribbean. I believe that being exposed to a variety of duversified experiences help the brain make new connections which help us to grow
existentially.Surprises and when things do not meet our expectations allow the brain to make new connections.The brain could get tired of the same old thing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have enjoyed discussing cultural,political,and historical issues with my guests.Please note that I also belong to SERVAS and have hosted RERVAS guests in the past. I make it clear to my couchsurf guests (many of whom just stop in for coffee and a drink) as part of learning what the United States is all about that the
1) the U.S is the only country on the planet that was founded on an IDEA
2)that it is a nation of LAWS not pf people
3) it is not a society of white people.An American is not a white person.
4)the separation of church and State is very unique and critical to the proper functioning of the United States.

Interests

Stuttering,music,scientific methodology applied to resolving national and international conflicts
politics and government, Cultural interactions.I am particulary interested in the REASONS people give for believing,thinking,acting,and behaving a certain way and to examine the reasons given and see if the reasons have any scientific validity.As tolerant I am of variety of
variety of opinions,some of travelers are still liviving
in the Middle Ages and pre-scientific times.

in my disc jockey collection(see photos)I like Mezzoforte an upbeat jazz group from Iceland. My favorite movie was The Gods must be crazy.
