About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Looking for a way to make a difference in the world

ABOUT ME

Hey my name is Corrado, I'm from Italy and I'm a first year graduate student at Virginia Tech. I'm a pretty easy going person, I can adapt to any situation and I really enjoy trying new stuff (food, local activities, anything). People say I'm usually in a good mood and fun to hang around, it's up to you to trust them.. I like to find the positive side of things and I am convinced that there is always a way to save a trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just signed up here so I'm not sure of how everything works. I want to participate and meet new people. I love low budget trips.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I said I just started on this website, I can't host right now because I leave in a house with 5 other people and would not be OK if I had somebody we don't know sleeping on the couch. I'm planning to start hosting as soon as I get a place by myself (hopefully soon).

Interests

I like reading and listening to music, like many other people I guess. I'm an aerospace engineering graduate so I like technological stuff, I'm pretty good with computers and the goal of my life is to come up with something (possibly related to my background) that can improve the human condition. I love watching (good) movies and enjoy conversations about serious topics like meaning of life, politics, innovation and human issues.

Music, Movies, and Books

Clockwork orange, Forrest Gump, Apocalypse now, anything from Kubrick, Scorsese, De Palma, Fincher. I was a big Lost fan and now the only thins I watch on TV are Dexter, How I met your mother and Family guy. Like reading classics like Orwell, Salinger, Kerouac, science fiction (Asimov, Bradbury), I enjoy short stories and have read all the classics of Italian literature among which I choose Calvino and Svevo.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best sensations ever was when I hiked to the top of the volcano Villarica, in Chile. After 4 hours of hiking on ice with crampons against the strongest and coldest wind I ever experienced, I finally could enjoy the incredible view from the top, it was amazing!
The other moment was when I went to Sierra Leone with a volunteering organization. You know how everybody says that going to Africa is a life changing experience? It's a cliche but I have to say: seeing all those kids living in such poor conditions that I had only seen in movies before, well that actually changed my life. Everyone should do an experience like that!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a good tennis player, it helped me put pay part of my college tuition and I think I'm a pretty good teacher. I like math and physics (if I didn't I would be studying what I'm studying) but I don't think many people will want to learn about that. I love learning new languages and I'm planning to add either French or Portuguese to my portfolio.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm usually a fun and honest person to be around, so I hope I can share my view of the world and we can have some interesting conversations. Or we can just go out and have fun, I'm usually down for everything life throws at me.
