CURRENT MISSION Meeting new people. ABOUT ME Hi everyone! I am Alexa from Hannover and still quite new to couchsurfing even though I signed up a couple of years ago. Thus far, I haven't travelled much - which I am going to change starting this year. I lived in London for four months and in Warsaw, where I worked as a language teacher. There I learned about couchsurfing and took part at some of the local meetings. I met many amazing people. Before going abroad I was quite shy but I learned it's much more rewarding to be brave and talk to people. That's how I found out more about them and about myself. In my free time I like doing sports, walking dogs, watching TV-series, reading, going to the cinema, drawing and spending time with friends. PHILOSOPHY Every day you can learn something new.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING As I am working a lot at the moment I do not couchsurf often. I have a spare couch to host you in my living room. I live in a small flat in Hannover. I'd still love to talk and meet new people. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE None so far - unfortunately. Went to local meet-ups in Warsaw bit didn't connect online as I wasn't that much 2.0 at that time.

One Amazing Thing I've Done
My first baffling experience anroad: It was on my birthday a couple of years ago. I was running through Lazenki Park and suddenly a deer appeared right in front of me. As I grew up in the city, I never have seen an animal from the forest this close. After some time of shock and staring at each other it decided to continue its path into the woods. This story might be anti-climactic but as somene growing up in an urban neighbourhood, I loved it. Other amazing things I have seen and experienced: A Polish wedding, thousands of bikers riding through Warsaw and of course, getting to know some people whose personalyty traits I admire. There are some very honest and good hearted people out there! But the most amazing thing that happened to me was my stay in Poland: My visit to Warsaw changed me a lot. I became more outgoing, open minded and self-confident. Even though I lived on my own for a long time before my time abroad, it was a whole new experience for me. To start over in a different country with a completely different language and mentality is so rewarding!
