Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At present, we're principally looking to play host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We're newly signed up for couchsurfing.org, but there are a few experiences from the past that relate, particularly:

Some kids showed up at my door looking for a place to stay. There were 14 of them, from the U.K., selling children's books door-to-door for the summer, and their lodging plans had fallen through. I put them up for a week until they could get their situation sorted out, and it was a great experience — a lot of fun, and all the more fun because it was so unexpected.

Interests

Late night jaw sessions, exotic cooking exercises, homebrewing, great design, art from recycled materials, puppies, kittens, more puppies and kittens, creative writing, travel, playing and listening to music, great books, fun facts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Her: Skydiving - Amazing, because I'd broken my back less than a year before then, and it was a way for me to say to the world that "I'm back, I'm not going to be scared." And I just wanted to go out and do something fun, because why the hell not?

Him: On the advice of a friend, getting lost in a strange city, and finding my way back. You see the most amazing things when you haven't the slightest clue where the fuck you are.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to see what a happy couple looks like, we're a pretty good example. We're far from perfect people, but we're damned sure that we're perfect for each other. People say that our house has good vibes, and we think that probably has to do with how we work together - and that's a big part of why we want to play host to nice people.
