About Me
Hello!
My name is Crystal. I am born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, a short distance from Seattle, WA. I wanted to see more of this lovely planet so after college I booked my first international solo flight to New Zealand Jan 1st of 2015 and became addicted to traveling. My first Couchsurfing experiencing was in Wellington, NZ when I met a few female solo travelers and we stayed with a nice person who taught us Lindy Hop swing dancing!
I hope to meet other creative people as I travel and photograph this world and learn more about myself and how I can contribute to making this world a more beautiful place.
Back home, I am an Art Director and Graphic Designer... and I love my job! I'm an avid backpacker in Washington state but love experiencing new cultures, eating all the food, learning how to dance, and love to make connections with people of all walks of life!
I went solo traveling in Australia and rang in the 2020 New Year in New Zealand! Pre-COVID my plan was to quit my job and move to the Philippines but I ended up staying in Washington state for most of 2020. Now that I have a fully remote job I am looking for my next destination!
I miss internationally traveling so much and can't wait to be back out there on the road. Currently wandering around Arizona trying to figure out where to go next :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really enjoy exploring new places but going outside the limits and steer clear of the "touristy places". What better way to do that then to meet awesome locals?
I hope that I can do the same for anyone wanting to explore the Pacific Northwest :) We have the most beautiful mountains here.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a very eclectic taste and love music as long as it makes me feel something! Love to sing. Love to (try to) dance. Soul, blues, indie folk, rock. You name it!
I recently started taking dance lessons and would love to find other travelers who want to salsa/lindy hop/bachata.
BTW - The Gorge is the most amazing venue back home - a must see!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In October 2018 I went to Peru and met up with 12 other flight attendants. We did the 4 Day Salkantay Trek and my favorite memory was staying behind in our camp and playing gymnastics with the local Peruvian kids there. I thought them how to play airplane and we flew drones and they were amazed. I will never forget making connections with the children there even though there was a language barrier.
I truly do love my home in Washington state. Hanging my hammock at the top of a summit or alpine lake.... There's no better feeling then getting to to top of a hike and endulging in all the things you carried in your pack. Typically being chocolate and wine. Or whiskey. ;)
In April 2016 I trekked in the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp (5,380 m /17,600 ft). 14 days of trekking and making new friends and learning new card games. Also reaching base camp was a truly magical experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to teach English in exchange to learn new languages!
